A Clinical Guide to Proper Diagnosis and Treatment Planning of Patients with Gingival Health, Gingivitis, and Periodontitis
My project focused on giving students in the clinic a simplified guide to treating their patients’ periodontal health. We found that most students struggle readily with proper measurement, diagnosis, and treatment planning in regards to periodontal health. I also found that the school’s PacManual website had tons of helpful reviews and tricks for every aspect of clinical dentistry, but severely lacked in periodontics. I decided to make a three part video series covering: common patient medical histories and radiographs needed for periodontal patients, proper measurement of the periodontium, proper diagnosis and treatment planning for periodontal health. With mentorship from Dr. Lundergan, we included common mistakes made by students and tips and tricks for how to tackle the beast of periodontal health.
